Now there's a really neat, new fractal generation program called
"Ultra Fractal" available.
Written by Frederik Slijkerman,
it is Windows-based, produces jpg images in 24-bit depth (16.4 million colors instead of the
256 color limit of gif images), and has lots of other swell whistles and bells. Although
